 Hat Not Hate

Hat Not Hate is an anti-bullying campaign
sponsored by Lion Brand yarn.

The hats are given to schools and each student gets one.
The school has a wonderful assembly program
where they talk about bullying.

All hats have to be any shade of blue.

Last year I donated 130 hats.

This time I donated 154 hats.

Yes, all the hats were hand knit by ME!

My super power is that I can knit without looking.

I'm working on my new donation of 175 hats. I think I'll make it.

Decorative Pens

So every once in a while a new idea pops into my head.

I think about it.

I work on it.

And I do it!

These pens are very decorative.

They will go very well with my journals and cards.

They're fun to make and fun to use.

I might have to make a lot more

for up-coming art and craft shows.

Beach Bag Cards are so much fun to make.

The beach bag is made from wallpaper. Yes, wallpaper.

Making cards keeps me happy and sane.

Let's go to the beach.

Who's ready?

 Ruth's Hats

Back in November 2020, one of my girlfriends, Leona, got in touch with me to see if I could crochet an afghan from her late mother's granny squares.
Since I do not crochet, I told her I could not do that.
Anyway, I had a big change of heart and decided to re-purpose these squares into hats. There were 235 squares that had to be sorted, ripped out, made into same color balls,
and then knitted into hats.

Leona lives in Minneapolis so she had to mail me the box of squares.
The first picture shows the squares in the box, the second picture shows all the yarn balls, and the third picture shows the 33 hats that I made.
All these hats will be donated to children's hospitals or the homeless.
I did make a hat for Leona so she could have the spirit of her mother with her
on those chilly Minneapolis days.

Leona's mother, Ruth, passed away in 2004.
The squares were made in the late 1980's to the early 1990's.
The yarn was approximately 30 years old.
Ruth's spirit is now alive and well.
It was my pleasure to work on this project.
My heart is dancing.

 Butterflies

These butterfly cards take a long time to create,
but they are beautiful.

I think my card-making students will enjoy making them.

Now that we are in a pandemic,

paper and yarn are my best friends.

Happy crafting!
