Old Photos meet Altered Art

Okay, so I'm thrift shopping with a girlfriend and I find this little book

with old-time photos and sayings.

Hey, I can do something with this.

And....so I did!

The lace, ribbon, rhinestones, and glitter make a statement,

but I'm not sure what statement they make.

Enjoy.

The first 3 cards are done with scraps.

You need 3 different papers.

The bottom of each card is embossed using the Cuttlebug after adhering all papers to the card.

The middle dividing part is with a Sizzix die or using border punches.

Easy and fun to make.

The card below is made using a Spellbinders die with my eBosser.

Took a few days to get the "rhythm" of the eBosser.

Used the Xyron machine to adhere the design to the card.

Glittered around the adhesive that seeps out with a powdered glitter.

Glitter doesn't show up well, but "in person" the card is spectacular.

Memory Box Dies are so Cute!

Using my Ebosser and Memory Box Dies

makes these black and white cards stand out.

Now who wouldn't want one of these beauties?

Oh, and a little glitter doesn't hurt either...

Rainberry Bay Library Knit Wits Accept Award from Chili's

Here I am at Chili's in Lake Worth, FL, accepting an award from Chili's Grill & Bar and Little Smiles on behalf of the Rainberry Bay Library Knit Wits.  We help to raise money for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and distribute hats and blankets to Little Smiles.  We are a group of very talented women who give of their time to try to make kids happy.  Chili's sponsored a luncheon for us and gave us gift bags of yarn, candy, gift certificates to Chili's, etc.  Tony Viola, Area Director of Chili's, couldn't have been nicer and so appreciative of our knitting dedication.  Joshua Daniel, Program Manager and Fundraising Director of Little Smiles, was so grateful for all our time and energy we put into each and every hand-knit item that goes to the kids.  My hat is off to all the ladies that give of themselves in each and every item they knit.  Isn't it time you learned how to knit?

Some of my card-making friends and I got together to be

part of the exhibit...Paper as Art.

We created altered art cards.

We had a fabulous time.  

Creating cards is the best way to showcase your talents.

Paper is my passion!

Altered Art Never Looked so Good!

 

 

You either like it or you don't.

Background comes from an old

home improvement magazine dating back to 1987.

Some stickers, some rubber stamping, wooden cello (see it?),

matted pictures from books and magazines

 and a rhinestone or two!

It's altered art, steampunk, a little vintage,

and a little Victorian.
